If you suspect a file or website is malicious, submit a sample of the file or website to the Malwarebytes Forums Research Center. Submitting a sample helps us improve the way our Malwarebytes software detects, removes, and blocks malware.
To submit a sample, sign up for a Malwarebytes Forum account, then create a topic in the Research Center.
Sign up for the Forums
- Using your browser, go to the Malwarebytes Forums (https://forums.malwarebytes.com).
- Click Sign Up.
- Complete the required fields to create your account.
- Enter your display name, email address, password, and other security questions.
- Click the box next to I’m not a robot.
- Agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, then click Create my Account.
A verification email with the subject You must validate your account to continue. is sent to your email address.
- Enter your display name, email address, password, and other security questions.
- Open the verification email, then click Verify my Email address.
Create a topic in the Research Center
- Log in to the Malwarebytes Forums (https://forums.malwarebytes.com).
- From the Malwarebytes Forums, go to the Research Center.
- In the Research Center, click the subforum that best describes the file or website you are submitting.
To see guidelines for each subforum, click the pinned topic titled Purpose of this forum.
- Click Start new topic.
- Create and submit your new topic.
- To submit a file:
- Zip the file.
- Add the zipped file as an attachment.
- To submit a website:
- Save the website address in a text file.
- Zip the file.
- Add the zipped file as an attachment.

- Add a description of your experience when you encountered the issue.

IMPORTANT: Do not post active URL links to the forum. Instead, enter [code] url link [/code] or click on the <> icon then enter the URL link.
Once you’ve submitted a file or website to the Malwarebytes Forums, you may delete the file or close your browser.
