You can turn on the features in Malwarebytes for iOS from the Malwarebytes app or your device’s Settings app. Each section of this article explains how to turn on the following Malwarebytes for iOS features:
- Ad Blocking
- Text Message Filtering
- Web Protection (Premium only)
- Call Protection (Premium only)

Ad Blocking
- Open Malwarebytes for iOS
- Next to Ad Blocking, tap Activate.
- Tap Activate Protection.
- Tap Toggle on Malwarebytes – Ad Blocking.
- Scroll down, then tap Safari.
- Scroll down to the General section, then tap Content Blockers.
- To enable Malwarebytes as an ad blocker, toggle on Malwarebytes – Add Blocking.
Text Message Filtering
To turn on Text Message Filtering, open your device’s Settings app, then tap Messages > Unknown & Spam. For more detailed instructions, refer to the article Turn iOS Text Message Filtering on or off.
Web Protection
Web Protection is supported using VPN on Demand—a service provided by iOS. If another VPN provider is installed on your device, disconnect your VPN before you continue.
- Open Malwarebytes for iOS.
- Next to Web Protection, tap Activate.
- Tap Activate protection.
If you do not have a Malwarebytes for iOS Premium subscription, the app requires you purchase a subscription to continue.
- Tap Toggle on Malwarebytes – Web Protection.
- Scroll down, then tap Safari.
- Scroll down to the General section, then tap Content Blockers.
- Toggle on Malwarebytes – Web Protection.
Call Protection
